Ankit: I always wanted to do an MBA but was pushed to do HR because the HR experience which I had in my previous firm was not up to the mark. Hence, I thought to do something in the HR domain and improve the same.
MA: From choosing the subjects in college to now working in the field, how does this transition feel?
Ankit: MBA rightly prepares you to be business ready and in the current profile where I get the direct exposure to handle clients and their entire HR systems, the transition has been fluent.
MA: Can you tell us about your job role?
Ankit: In consulting we take care of client HR systems, starting from creation to maintenance. These are long term projects generally.
MA: What do you think are the qualities that are needed for someone who wants to excel in this field?
Ankit: Passionate, open-minded, have good networking skills, and Ask relevant questions.
MA: What skills should these people develop to grab their dream roles/jobs?
Ankit: I don't think there is a need to develop any new skill but what matters is the proficiency you have in the skills you have already acquired and do justice to your CV.
MA: What message would you like to give to the HR enthusiast?
Ankit: Learn a lot and enjoy a lot. Because those two years won't come back. Participate in B-school competition for greater exposure.
